A white stone sits at the centre with your stones on three of its four sides. Counting liberties is the cheapest skill in Go and the one that pays most often: here the count is three to one, and no move by White can change it. Fill the last empty neighbour and the stone comes off the board in a single move. The mirror skill, next time the colors are reversed, is extending your own stone before it ever falls to one liberty.
