Komoku and joseki
The 3-4 point sits on the third line in one direction and the fourth in the other. It tilts further toward corner territory than the symmetrical 4-4: a single stone here already threatens to take the corner outright, at the cost of a little flexibility. The 3-4 was the most-played corner in the 20th century.
