Thickness is a group with no weaknesses — fully connected, eyeable or with ample liberties, impossible to cut or kill. Thickness radiates power: it attacks nearby weak stones and helps secure territory. Golden rule: don't approach the opponent's thickness ('don't touch the wall') — your stone only gets pushed around.
