Count the race before you enter
Seven points of eye space on the side: black can fill six of them, and the board shows exactly that race at its end — six black stones inside, one liberty left. Now white captures all six with a single stone, and the eye space resets to seven empty points. The race can be repeated forever: the seven-space side eye is unconditionally alive. Your task is the capture — and the conviction that follows it.
